THE NINA FOUNDATION : Advocacy & Education
Nina Meehan is a 19 year old advocate dispelling myths about nonspeaking autism. Nina’s mission is to inspire and educate all about spelling as a life changing communication method, and raise awareness about motor skill disabilities such as apraxia. She believes the world needs a new understanding and a wider perspective regarding what those with nonspeaking autism are really capable of.
“My goal is to educate the public about autism, to raise awareness about the depth of autistic knowledge starting with our ability to comprehend EVERYTHING. The world needs to assume competence in us always, so we can be treated with respect and given opportunities to thrive.”
